"Douglas Island Bible Church exists to point people to Jesus, equip them for service,
and send them out to reach others with the good news that Jesus saves!"

Our Pastor
Pastor Tom and Tami Matthews have been serving as Pastor and wife since 2003. Both are graduates of the Montana Institute of the Bible, in Lewistown, MT. Pastor Tom earned his Master of Arts of Ministry degree through the Moody Graduate School in Chicago, IL. He primarily preaches with an expository style, but enjoys the occasional sermons that cover different topics and current concerns.
History
In January of 1965, the vision of the Gospel Missionary Union and the members of the Auke Bay Bible Church Bible Church led to the establishment of the Douglas Island Bible Church. They rented the top floor of the Eagle's Hall in Douglas, and held the first service with 40 people in attendance. In 2015 our church celebrated its 50th anniversary. For the last 50+ years this church has pointed people to Jesus, equipped them to serve Him and sent them out to share the good news that Jesus saves!
